Today I signed up for Peer Support Specialist (PSS for short) training. I can't afford the $350.00 that it costs, but if they get 10 people signed up then they will offer a few free spots for the course. Keep your fingers crossed for me. As part of the application process I had to write a paragraph of why I wanted to become a PSS and now I wish I could change that paragraph. LOL. The good things always come to mind AFTER you send something off, doesn't it. LOL
I really really need this course. You can't work as one in the state of NC without your PSS certification and I would be so great at that job. Hell I just want to work and do this! I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines watching my life go by when I can be putting my life, experience, and recovery to good use. Who knows, someday PSS might replace therapists. LOL. Lord knows you can't get one for cheap or free anymore.
Volunteered again today at the homeless shelter. I love going down there! Even though so many of them have issues in life, are homeless, they are still so cheerful and smiling. Many of them thank you for coming in to work in the shelter, I don't know how to reply to that so I just smile and nod. I want so much to help everyone even though I know I can't. I can't babysit the world and have to keep telling myself that.
On to my grateful list before I tear up. LOL
1) I'm grateful for Mr. Cox possibly offering a few free spots in his next PSS class.
2) I'm grateful I was able to go to Urban Ministries and help out.
3) I'm grateful for Urban Ministries being there for those who need to utilize their services.
4) I'm grateful for being 6 months shy of my 15th anniversary of being drug free!
5) I'm grateful for being able to talk to my son last night. He brought joy to my heart.
As I wander the earth in search of my peace and happiness, this is where I'll post my rants where it concerns my mental health as I discover things about my Bipolar Disorder, my Borderline Personality Disorder, and other medical issues. Here is where you will read and explore the things I am going through.
